FAQs
The Rutland Vineyard
We love hearing from you but before you ask any questions please have a quick look below!
Do we have to book?
No bookings required! We're very relaxed and we will always find you a seat somewhere in the vineyard.
What are your opening hours?
The best place to check up to see if we're open is this website which gets updated at the start of every week. Failing that our Instagram and Facebook pages often put out the opening times. Generally we are open Wednesdays to Saturdays.
Are dogs welcome?
We love dogs in the vineyard. They aren't allowed into the tasting barn but they can happily rest on the terrace or be taken on their lead around the 1km nature trail. We ask the lead to be kept on due to all the wildlife in the vineyard. There are dog snacks and water bowls on the terrace and a covered area outside in case it starts raining!
What food do you do?
We can offer something for the sweet tooth and the savoury lovers! There is always a selection of delicious home baked tray bakes and cakes on offer. We don't offer a vegan choice but try to have a gluten free choice on offer. We also have a mouth-watering cheese board for two on offer with three English cheeses along with accompaniments.
How can I book tours in 24?
You can book the tours via the website when they are released in February. We run them when the vineyard is full of life and are on Friyays between 6-8pm. What a way to launch your weekend! If you have a group of you with ten or more and you fancy a private tour please drop us an email and we'll see if we can squeeze you in!
Can I hire the vineyard tasting barn?
Yes! We have a smart 65` inch TV, whiteboard for presentations and meetings. You can hire the barn out on Mondays and Tuesdays and have exclusive use of the vineyard. We can offer freshly ground coffee alongside cakes to keep the energy going during the meeting! If you have a birthday or celebration you can also hire the vineyard to party and dance the night away!
When is your 1st wine ready?
We harvested our first grapes in 2023 in October. This was the first grape harvest in this area since the Romans over two thousand years ago! We invited people along to help bring in the harvest and we paid them in wine and cake to say thank you! Our white wine and red wine will be released in 2024! Watch this space!
Do you sell gift vouchers?
These are great presents for the hard-to-buy for! We sell £25, £50 and £100 vouchers they can be used on anything the barn and have no expiry date! Drop us an email info@therutlandvineyard.comand we'll send it to you FOC.
How do I sponsor a row post?
We have an annual row post sponsorship in the vineyard. It runs from January to December every year and you get first refusal every year if you wish to keep your post! You can get a personalised row plaque at the end of a row, a bottle of The Rutland Vineyard still wine in a presentation bag, a certificate of sponsorship, a hot drink of choice in the tasting barn and free gift which varies from year to year (so far we've done a smart baseball cap and beautiful calendar).

In 2024 it costs £55 (including VAT). We still have a few row posts for 2024 so please get in touch if you fancy snapping one up. We will sell out soon. It's our job to develop the sponsorship package every year to keep your plaque in the vineyard!
